Layers of Leopard

[Sweater: Barney's New York Outlet (old, last seen here); Blouse: J.Crew Factory; Jeans: Citizens of Humanity (similar); Booties: Report; Beanie: Asos (similar)]

A full-on leopard blouse seems like a very audacious wardrobe choice, so to get away with wearing it at work and more traditional dress code sessions, I layered it under this cozy sweater. Layers cover multitude of sins.

Comfy Chic

[Pants: Banana Republic outlet (old, last seen here); Top: Barney's New York outlet (old, last seen here); Sandals: Madewell; Necklace: J.Crew factory, recent]

I am not ready to kiss summer and its cute clothing goodbye yet, so I have been gravitating toward white pants lately. Here I paired it with a top I love for its versatility. It can go casual (with jeans or leggings) or dressy (with patterned tights and heels), and work during warm weather (with light floaty pants), and cold (with more chunky knits layered on and finished off with boots). I admit, the jagged shape threw me off when I first got it as a gift, but it's been a wardrobe ace.

Tangerine

[Top: Marc by Marc Jacobs via Barney's New York Outlet (old); Shorts: Forever21 (similar); Sandals: Target (old); Necklace: H&M]

This top is five years old and more current than ever with the colorblocked shades of orange. I love the vertical arrangement, the slightly puffy sleeves, and the deep V in the back. It's one perk of having worked in an outlet mall.

Oh, and taking outfit pictures is embarrassing enough, but try doing it with two good friends watching. That's what I get for crashing their engagement session. You can see them in the background below, but be sure to check out my husband's blog soon for an absolutely stunning session with lots of beautiful Boston scenes, stunning light, and a very happy, in love couple.

Happy Monday!

Slouchy Blue & Breezy Skirt

[Top: Barney's New York Outlet; Skirt: J.Crew factory (solids here) ; Shoes: Old Navy; Earrings: BaubleBar]

I'm craving all things slouchy, flowy, and patterned lately. This dress is the third of the J.Crew convertible-strapless-dress-I-can-do-anything wonder. In this case, worn as a skirt. That hits me at the midi length. A length I told you yesterday I had been afraid of. Oh, the strides I'm making.

Everyone goes nuts over dressy dresses with pockets, but this shirt has a pocket, so that's almost as cool. Yeah, so it adds extra material around my middle, but hey, that will be perfect for hiding a pregnancy once I get around to having kids.

One last thing, Mikhail kicked a soccer ball directly at my thighs 15 seconds before he started snapping away. So I was recovering for the first part of this shoot.

Closet Remix: Neutrals and Leather

[Brown Top: Barney's New York Outlet; Black Tank Dress: H&M; Leggings: Target; Jacket: Cole Haan (old); Boots: J.Crew (old), Purse: Bag: Vintage Coach, thrifted; Scarf: H&M (old); Earrings: BaubleBar, Necklace: Forever 21 (old)]

Black, brown, and leather. This outfit looks more fall than spring. But it's been chilly here, and this look is comfy but still different. The jacket was a recent re-discovery from my closet. My mom had bought it on sale for me years ago and I thought it was odd at first (mustard yellow leather?), but I've come around to realize it's pretty interesting and just enough to spunk up an outfit. I had forgotten about it for most of this year, but was very happy when I realized it was just cool but just warm enough out to wear right about now. Some simple jewelry added another color pop to the very neutral outfit.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
