[Shirt; L.L.Bean, thrifted (similar); Cardigan: J.Crew factory; Jeans: Citizens of Humanity; Necklace: J.Crew factory; Boots: vintage Salvatore Ferragamo (similar, dreamy current version here), Ring: Aloha Sunday]
Ya'll are probably sick of hearing me (and every blogger out there) talk about impending weather changes, but I want winter to know just how unwelcome it is here. I'm being gracious, though, and giving winter-only items like this flannel shirt a few last opportunities to see the light of day.
In all seriousness, though, this L.L.Bean shirt was part of major thrifting bounty in January. It reminds me of the fabulous plaids that J.Crew had been putting out this season, but was way more appealing with its $5 price tag. This is one thing I will miss about winter: it's easier to find large and cozy sweaters and flannels at thrift stores than it is scoring the cute dresses I live in come the warmer weather. Any suggestions? Should I learn some alteration skills or what?
Oh, and this is how I feel when I think about spring coming:

Winter, blah. Who isn't over it? I have been on the hunt for a great vinage LLBean plaid like this. I really like the J CrewXNili Lotan jacket but not the $$. At any rate, can we dish about your floors please (I know, random)?! Rustic perfection!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Our landlords renovated the place before we moved in and discovered these beauties under years of awful laminate flooring!
DeleteAll this winter hating is a real group think! If it makes others feel better, LA has been really cold so no need to be envious!!!!

I think the New England winters make you a little insane by the end of it, so it's all we can talk about at this point haha!
DeleteI had a similar post today except I was craving the colder weather as we're in the middle of Summer down here. I guess we all just long for a change (:
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit! I am in love with that shirt. Altering most skirts is actually really easy, even some dresses. Most of my closet is thrifted at this point, and just being able to do a few quick stitches here and there makes it so I can thrift almost any skirt (and a lot of dresses) and just bring them down to my size.
ReplyDeleteI am totally with you on winter - ready to be done with it!

Good to know! I will have to look up some quick sewing tips—it's been a while!
DeleteCute outfit! As for altering warm weather clothing, I so recommend it! I don't do it anymore since I have much less time but a number of years ago I used to reconstruct vintage clothing to create new pieces from old ones.

I actually love winter ha, I'm probably the only one saying that. But I do have to admit; being able to run outside without my knees freezing definitely gives me the 'jump for joy and flip my hurrrr' feeling too.
