Spring Cravings

Boston just keeps dumping snow on us and I'm officially sick of all my giant winter sweaters.

So what do I do? Start buying some spring clothes already. I feel like I've been accruing dresses for the last six years, so I switched my focus to fun pants. Here's what I came up with:

colorprint trackpants wide leg
1/2/3

I've been searching for some styling inspiration for these, since they're not my typical wardrobe item, and Pinterest has turned up lots of treasures!

I love how this pair is styled with a two-tone neutral sweater, some classic black pumps, and almost  no jewelry. The minimalist styling really lets the print of the pants shine.

I'm always a fan of a chic but super casual look, so this one definitely caught me eye! I'm loving the graphic tee and sneakers. Socks too! It shouldn't work, but it just does.

I also love the simplicity of a white tee, necklace, and sandals in this look

Anh of 9to5Chic makes these track pants look very polished with a blazer, and I'm hoping to do the same with my blue pair.

I can't wait until the spring weather is here to cooperate with these looks. Bare toes and short sleeves are not a match for the snow. The silver lining, though? This look from Laura of On The Racks has plenty of inspiration for styling up my printed pants for winter, with the right amount of layers and booties!

What do you think? How would you still printed pants?

Slouchy Stripes

[Striped Sweater: H&M (old); White blouse: Forever 21; Pants: Forever 21; Booties: Report; Watch: Nixon; Necklace: J.Crew factory store]

I absolutely saw an outfit similar to this in Lucky Magazine, and was excited to recreate with pieces I already owned. And I'm not the least bit ashamed of that. Why not take inspiration wherever you can get it?

Better Days

[Dress and shoes: H&M; Tights & necklace: J.Crew factory store]

Oh how I wish the weather now worked for an outfit like this. Say goodbye to dress and heels, and hello to weeks of 12-pound snow boots and fisherman's sweaters. Thank you Nemo.

The Ultimate Hand Me Down

[Fur jacket: My grandmother's; Silver jacket; H&M; White Blouse: Gap; Jeans; Citizens of Humanity; Boots; vintage Ferragamo; Necklace: J.Crew factory; Watch: Nixon; Ring: Aloha Sunday]

This jacket comes from my grandmother, who passed away four years ago. It's been in my closet in Connecticut since then, because I was a waitress and a college student and there was no place for fur in my life at the time. When I started seeing more fur and faux fur pieces on bloggers and in my Pinterest feed, I knew it was time to dust this off. Maybe it's cheesy that I needed to see others wearing similar things in order to get the confidence to pull this out, but, hey, that's what happened. I'm just thankful that I can remember my grandmother by physically wearing something of hers, and dreaming up what events she must have worn this to back in the day.

Uniform

[Sweater: thrifted; Top: Old Navy; Jeans; Citizens of Humanity (similar); Loafers: Cole Haan; Watch: Nixon]

A cozy cardigan paired with a bright top is a uniform of sorts for me. This particular tank was winterized with this thick knit sweater. You can see the fall version of this look here.
